If you find yourself in Kansas City, please tell me that you will seek out a barbecue place. It’s hard to go wrong with any place—I don’t think I’ve ever had bad barbecue in Kansas City. While the plates of ribs, pulled pork, and brisket blur together in my mind, one thing that stands out is a little place that served warm carrot cake like this one for dessert.

The carrot cakes are baked in small ramekins, tipped out onto a plate before serving while still hot, and drizzled with a warm, melty cream cheese sauce. You will love this!
